Corinth, Greece; terracotta amphoriskos. Corinthian pottery developed with the influence of eastern trade, creating art with stylized plants and animal friezes, inspired by trade with the Levant, Egypt, and Assyria. This is known as the "Orientalizing Period." The animals shown include a panther, Ibis and bird, with incised decoration. Apprx 4.5"T. From the collection of Juliane and Philip Lynch, Shaker Heights, Ohio.
