ENGLISH GEORGE II STERLING SILVER TEA OR LEMON STRAINER, round bowl with pieced designs along base, applied shaped tab handle with center pierced heart motif surrounded by engraved initials of "E / I * F", opposite end having a small applied tab with downward-facing finial. Impressed to side edge with a partially worn maker's mark of "W[?]" and three hallmarks of a lion passant for sterling fineness, a crowned leopard's head city mark for London, and a "g" date mark for 1742. Total weight 3.090 ozt. Circa 1742. 6 1/2" LOA, 3 1/2" D bowl.

Excellent overall condition with minor wear, surface scratches, and nicks, handle with round element at tip possibly repaired or later added.
