Rare 1758 English George II Solid Sterling Silver Two-Handled Porringer Made in London by John Berfthelot (311.8 Grams) - This piece is a very early, English George II solid sterling silver porringer made in London in 1758 by John Berfthelot. The front cartouche is monogrammed within a fancy raised repousse flower and leaf design, while the lower half of the piece is done in a fine scallop design. The piece measures 4.5"H x 7.5"W. The piece has the full hallmarks for 1758, John Berfthelot, the silver standard, and the London city mark, under the round pedestal base. This rare piece is in excellent, museum quality condition.
