Description
A GROUP OF TWO ENGLISH STERLING SILVER SERVING PIECES, LONDON, CIRCA 1814-1879, comprising a George III / Regency period ladle by Thomas Wallis II and Jonathan Hayne, London, 1814, with engraved crest, marked (leopard's head crowned), (lion passant), (duty), "TW (over) JB," "T," length: 12 3/4"; and a Victorian period meat skewer with feather terminal by George Aldwinckle, London, 1879, marked (leopard's head), (lion passant), (duty), "GA," "D," length: 12". total approximate silver weight: 8.445 troy ounces.
Condition
The ladle in overall good condition with rubbing to the engraved crest and surface scratching commensurate with age and use; the skewer in fair condition with nicks to the edges of the blade, the end of which is bent.
