ENGLISH GEORGE II ROCOCO STERLING SILVER TEA OR LEMON STRAINER, round bowl with pierced base, scroll and shell rim bordered by ornate reticulated decoration to inner edge, two applied handles featuring scroll and acanthus leaf designs. Interior base with a worn maker's mark and three partially worn hallmarks including a crowned leopard's head city mark for London and an "o" date mark for 1749, both handles each with a lion passant hallmark for sterling fineness. Total weight: 4.320 ozt. Circa 1749. 7 3/4" LOA, 4 5/8" DOA rim.

Condition
Very good visual condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, scattered denting notably along edges of bowl, reticulated decoration along rim with several splits notably along side near one handle having possible repair/s, one handle with repairs and a crack, other handle with possible repair/s.
