Description
Two Nabeshima Porcelain Scalloped Dishes by Imaemon Studio, possibly Imaemon XII (1897-1975) or early Imaemon XIII (1926-2001) The dishes are painted with a boating scene and an outdoor picnic in underglaze blue and green and overglaze enamels in yellow and iron-red. In one of the plates, a patron sits in the boat surrounded by female entertainers. The other plate features a picnic with three gentlemen enjoying sake while viewing the flowering plants (perhaps hydrangea). Mt. Fuji can be seen in the back of both plates. Signed with mark of Imaizumi Imaemon on the bottom.
