Description
Two porcelain round scalloped dishes with raised sides, painted in enamel blue, oxblood red, green, and puce with gilding. Japanese style pattern based on Arita prototype with four panels radiating from a central circle, two containing imaginary beasts. Chelsea-Derby c. 1785. Together with an 18th C Worcester enamel sweet meat dish painted in enamel blue, oxblood red, green, and puce with gilding. Japanese style pattern copied from Derby and based on Arita prototype with four panels radiating from a central circle, two containing imaginary beasts. Underglaze blue fret mark and artist's mark on underside. Worcester c. 1760.
