Ceramic Charger by Peter Voulkos (American, 1924-2002). This charger features an abstract arrangement of slashes and "bucci" (a textural effect), adorned with flat toned glazes in shades of beige, brown, black, and white. The dimensions are approximately 3" in height and 18" in diameter. It is signed on the underside with "Voulkos". This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
