Description
Ceramic Charger by William C. Richards (American, b.1954), Untitled, 1986. This piece is crafted in an abstract, post-modern style, evoking the imagery of a moonscape. It features muted tones with white and a splash of turquoise glaze. The charger is appx 26" across. It is signed and dated on the underside as "William Richards 86". Retains original receipt from Elaine Pottery Gallery, San Francisco, dated December 17th, 1986. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
