A very large and dramatic carved wooden parade bust or marionette head with classic Guro mask like face, extended horns and well handled surface. This is a large carving suggesting it was carried in a parade or in a festival , perhaps part of a marionette. The sculpture measures 20 inches tall ( 24 inches tall on custom display base.) Guro peoples, Ivory Coast, West Africa. Provenance: Ex Franco Giovanni Scanzi collection, Italy / Ivory Coast
