Chinese Ming Dynasty XuanDe Blue and White Porcelain Moon Vase. The vase potted in moon vase, thick and tall, globular moon lower belly, emerging ruyi flanked on the straight cylindrical neck, slight flaring round rim, raised on square foot base with slight concave footing. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of auspicious ornament with flowers blooms interspersed foliage interlocking tendril. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Upper base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years XuanDe Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
