Chinese Ming Dynasty ChengHua Blue and White Porcelain Cylinder Lidded Jar. Potted with a large cylinder vessel, having thick and tall potted body and sturdily, slight ovoid belly enlarge on shoulder gently tapered on short neck, round mouth rim with dome helmet finial bud, raised on short round foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of abundant fresh foliage flower bloom and auspicious pattern. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years ChengHua Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
