Potted into jar shape, having thick and tall, globular body, heavy on shoulder gently tapered on short neck, round mouth lip with helmet dome lid finial bud and raised on ring foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white and blue color, depicted of elders playing xiangqi on the terrace bellow dense tree and ruyi clouds. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish - blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue - black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under - base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years Chenghua Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
