Waylon Jennings Personally Owned Illinois State Fair Lucite Plaque and Wooden Stand W/COA - This plaque was presented to country music legends Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter for their performance at the Illinois State Fair in August 1985. This lucite plaque feature a reproduction of the signature of Governor James R. Thompson, the 37th governor of Illinois. Well known for being the pioneer of the Outlaw Movement in the genre, Jennings was part of the supergroup The Highwaymen throughout the 1980s alongside fellow musicians Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. His wife, Jessi Colter, emerged as one of the only female artists from the Outlaw Movement, and was a frequent collaborator with Jennings throughout their marriage beginning in 1969. Jennings was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001, and passed away in 2002 at the age of 64. Colter remains one of the most beloved staples of the country music genre to this day, along with her only child with Jennings, Waylon "Shooter" Jennings. This lot includes the original certificate of authenticity issued by Jimmy Velvet, President and Chairman of The Legends Hall of Fame.
