Description
Waylon Jennings Personally Owned Nashville Key To The City Jail Plaque W/COA - This plaque was presented to country music legend Waylon Jennings on September 20, 1985, commemorating the 2nd anniversary of the Great Barbeque Cookoff to benefit Sue Brewer. This plaque was presented by Nashville (also known as 'Music City') Sheriff Fate Thomas, who fondly listed himself as the number one fan of Waylon Jennings. This lot also includes a commemorative key to the city jail, an appropriate award for the musician known as the pioneer of the "Outlaw Movement" in the country music genre. Jennings was part of the supergroup The Highwaymen throughout the 1980s alongside fellow musicians Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. This lot measures approximately 9 in x 11 5/8 in, and includes the original certificate of authenticity issued by Jimmy Velvet, President and Chairman of The Legends Hall of Fame.
