Description
Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter Personally Owned Heart Plaque W/COA - This romantic heart-shaped wooden wall plaque was personally owned by legendary country music sweethearts Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. This whimsical art piece features carvings of the musician's first names, bisected by a heart. Well known for being the pioneer of the Outlaw Movement in the genre, Jennings was part of the supergroup The Highwaymen throughout the 1980s alongside fellow musicians Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. His wife, Jessi Colter, emerged as one of the only female artists from the Outlaw Movement, and was a frequent collaborator with Jennings throughout their marriage beginning in 1969. Jennings was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001, and passed away in 2002 at the age of 64. Colter remains one of the most beloved staples of the country music genre to this day, along with her only child with Jennings, Waylon "Shooter" Jennings. This lot was acquired through a charity auction in Nashville, Tennessee in 1998, and includes the original certificate of authenticity issued by Jimmy Velvet, President and Chairman of The Legends Hall of Fame. This lot measures approximately 12.3 in x 11 in.
