Description
Three Civil War Union General Signatures. (1) General Thomas Wilberforce Egan (1834-1887) 1862 signed document with certificate of authenticity. After the war, he would work as the deputy collector in the New York Customs House. (1) General Orris Sanford Ferry (1823-1875) autograph. Ferry served as a Radical Republican in the House of Representatives and the Senate. Autographed clip measures approx. 3/4" X 4". (1) Major General Greenville Mellen Dodge (1831-1916) signed partial document. Dodge had three horses shot out from underneath him in the Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas. After the war, Dodge became very successful in the Railroad business, even building a track in Cuba. His private fortune was estimated at $25 million at one time. Signed partial document measures approx. 3 1/2" X 4 3/8". Larry Mangus Collection, Corinth, Mississippi. Condition- Overall good condition with toning. The Egan document has a couple of creases.
