Generals Jefferson Davis & Franz Sigel Signatures. (1) Jefferson Columbus Davis (1829-1879) signature. Jefferson was an officer with the Union and was present at Fort Sumter in the Civil War's opening blow. Davis would openly murder Major General William Nelson, but would never be punished for the crime. Instead he would serve for the rest of the Civil War and was known to fight wherever it was thickest. The autographed slip of paper measures approx. 2" X 3". (1) Franz Sigel (1824-1902) autograph and CDV. Sigel was a German immigrant and was used to recruit immigrants to the side of the Union. He had a mediocre military performance outside of the Battle of Pea Ridge. Autographed paper measures approx. 2" X 4". Frame measures 12" X 13". Professionally framed and matted. Larry Mangus Collection, Corinth, Mississippi. Condition- Overall good condition. Both papers have some wear and toning. See photos.
