General Samuel Curtis & General John Magruder Signed Documents. (1) General John Bankhead Magruder (1807-1871) 1859 signed requisition form. Magruder was a Confederate general until he lost his command due to drunkenness and recklessness. After the war he moved to Houston. Comes with a CDV of Magruder. The requisition form measures approx 7 1/2" X 9 1/2". Frame measures 14 1/8" X 18 1/8". (1) Samuel Ryan Curtis (1805-1866) signed Special Orders from the Head Quarters, Department of the Missouri, St. Louis, Mo., March 18th, 1863. Major General Curtis served three consecutive terms in the U.S. House of Representatives before resigning to join the war effort. He would command the Department of the Missouri before a fight with the governor that caused him to be reappointed. The document measures 4 1/2" X 7 1/4". Frame measures 11 7/8" X 13 5/8". Both documents have been professionally framed and matted and have autobiographical sketches. Larry Mangus Collection, Corinth, Mississippi. Condition- Overall good condition.
