A receipt issued to Tinsley Jackson who paid $3 for the purchase of a coffin for an African American man named Charles. The note reads in full: “Received of Tinsley Jackson Executor of Ephraim Jackson Decd Three Dollars for Making Coffin for Negro Man Charles.”
