STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATE, featuring a States series pattern, depicting Bishton Hall, Staffordshire with two fishermen in foreground, flanked by patriotic female figures Justice and Liberty on platforms reading "AMERICA AND / INDEPENDENCE", portrait image of George Washington beside Justice, border featuring 15 states enumerated in swags interspersed with stars. Impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 10 5/8" D.
