Description
Provenance: Property from the Saul Brandman Foundation. Beverly Hill, California. Vase in red tone Sumida pottery fabrication, circa Meiji period. Country of origin: Japan. Thisvase has a multi-colored glaze in tones of ebony, green, and white on the surround, which has a ruffled design. There is an applied pottery design that depicts two figures: a seated elder male figure in a white robe with blue flowers on theleft, and a seated child figure on the right. There is an applied porcelain plaque on the left side that is signed in Japanese characters by the artistIshiguro Koko. This vase measures 11.75 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter. Provenance: Property from the Saul Brandman Foundation.
