Description

"Political Debates Between Hon. Abraham Lincoln and Hon. Stephen A. Douglas" is a compilation of seven debates that took place between Lincoln and Douglas during the 1858 U.S. Senate election campaign in Illinois. The debates are recorded in their entirety and cover topics such as slavery, states' rights, and the nature of democracy. The book was originally published in 1860, during Lincoln's successful bid for the presidency, and is considered a significant historical document in the study of American politics and the events leading up to the Civil War.

Condition
