Description
c. 1890 Gold medal given to a Veteran Corporal in Company A, Minnesota National Guard. Crossed rifles at the center with a small patriotic shield on the top bar. Beautifully engraved with blue enamel lettering.
The Minnesota National Guard was formed in 1882, starting with the First and Second Battalions. The First Battalion was comprised of the Minneapolis Light Infantry, the Minneapolis Zouaves, the St Paul Guards, and the Allen Light Guards of St. Paul.
Excellent condition.
