This rare original historic Engraved Print area measures 5" x 7.5" for the steel plate, being so well impressed into the paper that it may be a Proof impression, into a larger 8.5" x 10.25" special heavy page of quality print paper of the period. The central front facing portrait image of George Washington in his military uniform with hat and holding his sword, shown inside a decorative oval border. The title and text are in French, and describes Washington as the "General-in-Chief of the Anglo-American Army, named as Dictator by Congress in February 1777." in French.
