A lovely well-executed Bust Portrait of a younger looking George Washington in Colored Wax providing a more lifelike appearance. The wax bust itself measures 3.25" x 2" housed under an oval glass dome with decorative gold gilt surrounds to the period oval wooden frame, measuring to an overall size of 6.5" x 6". A small piece of Washington's pigtail lacking and some outer wooden ring frame loss as shown. Overall, this is one of the finer and more interesting early Wax Bust Portraits of George Washington we've offered and a design lacking in most collections.
