Description
Six Native American beaded objects, likely Sioux, late 19th or early 20th century, comprising four single beaded moccasins, executed with colored glass beads on hide, and two bag flaps, execrated in wool and cotton cloth, cardboard, glass beads, likely Five Nations. Provenance: From the Private Collection of Vernon Harris, Cumming, Georgia. Largest moccasin approx. h. 3.5", l. 10", w. 4.5".
Condition
Hide on all moccasins is stiff, showing dust and soil, undersides of three show evidence of wear, scattered loss to beads. Flaps having moth damage to wool (inactive) and extensive wear to fabric.
