Native American, Western United States, Plains Tribes, likely Cheyenne or Blackfoot, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A pair of worn beaded hide moccasins with geometric patterns on the toe. A faded red cotton strip is sewn under the ankle flap, and a heel tab made from a rawhide cord protrudes from the where the heel meets the sole, perhaps intended to obliterate footprints. Size of each: 9.5" L x 3.25" W (24.1 cm x 8.3 cm)

Fraying to some threads and losses to a few beads, but majority of beadwork is intact and very good. Wear to sole, hard and dark from age and use. Upper leather is supple with some discoloration as expected with age and use.
