Sendak 1977 Signed Album Cover "Where the Wild Things Are And Other Stories"
An original 11.75" vinyl album recording with signed cover of "Where the Wild Things Are", written by Maurice Sendak and "performed" by Tammy Grimes. Produced by Caedmon, 1977. With music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The album cover signed "For Elizabeth on one of her birthdays [sketch of a candle] with pleasure! Maurice Sendak. June '77" The cover verso includes biographical information and details on each story recorded. The record is assumed to be in working order but has not been played. Light toning and foxing to the cover, with slight bumping to the corners.
The recorded audiobook, directed by Ward Botsford, includes six stories from The Nutshell Library, as well as two additional tales. Side 1 (21:45) contains "Alligators All Around", "One Was Johnny", "Pierre", "Chicken Soup with Rice", "Very Far Away", and "Where the Wild Things Are". Side 2 (19:57) contains "The Sign on Rosie's Door" and "In the Night Kitchen".
