The book, Guadalcanal The Carrier Battles, by Eric Hammel, Crown Publishers, 1987, first edition, signed on a special bookplate affixed to the first end-paper by Robert E. Galer (1913-2005), James E. Swett (1920-2009) and Jefferson J. Deblanc (1921-2007). Galer received the Medal of Honor for heroism in aerial combat during the Battle of Guadalcanal in World War II, Swett was awarded the United States' highest military decoration, for actions while a division flight leader in VMF-221 over Guadalcanal and Deblanc shot down nine enemy aircraft during his two tours of duty in the Pacific at Guadalcanal and Okinawa and was awarded the Medal of Honor. The dust jacket is very good.
