Description
1970 Named Brigadier General Vietnam Era Painted Helicopter Blade. Named to H. E. (Herbert E.) Wolff Commander if the 1st Infantry Division, 1st Aviation Regiment Battalion. Approximate size is 9 x 45 inches. Included with this presentation gift are 7 photos that show the helicopter this rotary blade was taken from. A custom camouflage soft case is included with this item. A nice one of a kind group. Wolff was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in the Pacific Theater. He volunteered to join the Alamo Scouts and participated in the Raid at Cabanatuan. In 1945 he was given a battlefield commission to the rank of Second lieutenant and was awarded the Silver Star. During the Korean War Wolff saw combat and earned a second Silver Star.
