Description
Important Civil War sword of Brigadier-General Frederic Winthrop together with a memorial service pamphlet, photograph, memorial badge, stirrups and flag staff. The sword is a rare Tiffany model 1860 and has an eagle embossed hand guard and the blade is engraved. Brigadier General-Frederic Winthrop was killed April 1, 1865 while fighting at the head of his troops at the Battle of Five Forks, VA.
