Description
ENGLISH HAND-PAINTED CERAMIC JUGS / PITCHERS, LOT OF TWO, comprising a creamware memorial example featuring polychrome hand-painted enamel floral decoration enveloping "Robert & Margret / Hunter / Blefsed are the dead / That die in the Lord / 1822" below spout, and a pearlware ovoid form example having blue-decorated floral motif and leaf design to handle. Unmarked. First quarter 19th century. 8 1/2" HOA.

Condition
Hunter example having spout with glued repair and minor chip/loss to interior, an approximately 4" L hairline above base, wear to handle, and minor losses to enamel decoration; blue floral example having hairline to rim and lower handle terminus, each with associated minor chip, a faint hairline to spout, scattered flakes to foot ring, and enamel wear to rim, spout, and handle. Manufacturing flaws including blue floral example with stone/glaze pop to interior, as made.
