ENGLISH LUSTRE CERAMIC JUGS / PITCHERS, LOT OF THREE,comprising one having polychrome overglaze enamels with pink lustre rim featuring black transfer armorial designs to each side, depicting a rampant horse and bull flanking a shield with "UNITED TANNERS WARRINGTON" above, and scene depicting figures with milking cow below spout and "Richard Stockon / 1829" above, and two silver lustre examples including one featuring black transfer scene to each side depicting figures and sheep with large manor home in background, having "Geo"e Hughes / 1810" below spout, and remaining having tavern-related poems to each side including "The maltster doth crave". Unmarked.Probably Staffordshire or Yorkshire, England.First half 19th century. 5 3/4" HOA.

Condition
"Hughes" example undamaged, except having some expected wear including short scattered scratches; tavern-related jug having restoration to area of rim above handle, moderate crazing with some discoloration and wear; pink lustre example having hairline encircling handle with overall discoloration and wear to lustre.
