208 十八世紀白玉佛手嵌銅鎏金香薰
L14cm
白玉質，質地細膩，色澤皎潔溫潤，局部留有金黃皮色。依勢雕琢為佛手造形水洗，掏挖成器。佛手十指攏成，長短參差，末梢微卷，形態嬌美自然，寫實生動。蒂梗盤繞舒展，枝葉翻卷有致。其後鑲嵌銅鎏金蓋及二透明玻璃料管，雙
佛手俗稱佛手柑，為香櫞的俗稱，皮如橙柚，厚皺而光澤，狀如人手，有菩薩手之說，常以其象徵多福長壽，亦是明清之際流行「三多」紋中最受青睞之形象，明代詩人陳原舒贊曰：「色豔成丹火，香高過嶺風」。台北國立故宮博物院庋藏清〈玉佛手形水盛〉，與本品皆以佛手為造形雕琢，刀法精湛，形象逼真，可資比對參考。
本品結合圓雕、浮雕、陰線刻及鑲嵌等多種工藝，佛手肥碩飽滿，表面肌理如真，刀法極富變化，舒緩婀娜。輾轉流傳至西方後，西洋人後加金屬鑲嵌，將中國傳統文房用品改變為香薰之用，為中西結合之巧品。
