Mary and George Bloch 伉儷為赫赫有名的收藏家夫婦。George Bloch（1920－2009）出生於維也納工業世家，曾負笈英倫。1938年移居上海並創立公司，專營生產及分銷玩具、鐘錶、家具及電子零件。George 原已熱愛收藏，1969年與 Mary 共結連理後更拓展視野與興趣，倆人攜手蒐集各式珍品，收藏範圍涵蓋日本牙雕漆作、中國陶瓷及工藝品、西方現代畫與雕塑等。賢伉儷走遍世界各地，造訪博物館、參與拍賣會，Mary 也因而獲邀加入威尼斯 Peggy Guggenheim Advisory Board 顧問委員會。
八十年代初期，伉儷開始專注袖珍藝術鼻煙壺的收藏。多年來在顧問 Robert Kleiner、Robert Hall 及 Hugh Moss 的輔佐下，收藏日豐。其藏品出版無數，如《盈寸纖研－瑪麗及佐治伯樂鼻煙壺珍藏》、《A Treasury of Chinese Snuff Bottles: The Mary and George Bloch Collection》等專書。曾於各大博物館及藝廊如香港藝術館、倫敦大英博物館、新加坡國家博物院、耶路撒冷以色列博物館、香港大學美術博物館、北京故宮博物院、蒙特利馬 Musée de la Miniature 等地巡迴列展，奠定其鼻煙壺藝術領域的重要地位。本次編號103－105皆為 Mary and George Bloch 伉儷收藏之精巧玲瓏的掌中珍玩，散發令人眩目的迷人魅力。
白玉質，潔白油潤，光亮含蓄，質地細膩緻密。壺敞口，束頸，豐肩，扁腹，腹下漸收，平底。壺身兩面均凸雕團壽紋，排列緊密而行距不亂，小如蠅頭卻筆筆不苟，刻工精緻。包袱巾自壺身後方往前包覆，鬆散自然地在前方繫結，包袱巾以回紋為邊，內滿刻細密繁複「米」字紋，狹長的兩側面亦琢「米」字紋相應。壺體正側面相接處有明顯折角，雕工精湛，琢磨細膩，且胎薄透光。清宮舊藏，北京故宮博物院庋藏清中期〈青玉百壽字鼻煙壺〉，造形、「壽」字紋飾皆與本品甚為相似，可資參考。唯本品以「米」字紋包袱巾挽一花結，更勝一籌。
包袱瓶又稱布袋瓶，始創於康熙年間，因器型多為於瓶身飾凸雕包袱巾或束帶而得名。「包袱」與「抱福」諧音，寓意吉祥幸福，因此本品也蘊藏「福報百壽」之美好寓意。此種器型獨特，寓意美好，多為皇家宮廷御用之物。如清宮舊藏，北京故宮博物院庋藏清中期〈青玉袱繫紋百壽字鼻煙壺〉，與本品皆刻飾錦緞包袱於壽字紋上，深含美好祝願。
本件鼻煙壺不僅在造形上取包袱為設計，更精雕細琢團壽紋，寓意健康長壽與幸福。拍場相似之例可參見拍賣於北京保利2012年12月6日，編號6806，清乾隆〈白玉包袱團壽紋鼻煙壺〉，與本品皆將巧思精工寓於其中，展現清代雕刻工藝爐火純青之成就。
