Description
Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan, ca. 150 to 650 CE. A fine pottery jar exhibiting a planar base, a wide hip, a sloped shoulder, an attenuated neck, and a flared rim, all sitting upon 3 petite, pointed feet. The exterior is enveloped in a creamy beige glaze with a thick band of burnt sienna wrapping horizontally across the upper body. Three pairs of beige trapezoids cut into the sienna band, extending from the bottom, and forming a lovely abstract design. Size: 6.2" W x 6.1" H (15.7 cm x 15.5 cm)

Condition
Losses to small area on rim and tip of 1 foot. Chips to neck and underside of rim. Expected nicks and abrasions, commensurate with age. Areas of fire darkening and reburnishing to surface. Otherwise, excellent with great pigments.
