Description
Pre-Columbian, Central Mexico, Teotihuacan, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. A lidded tripodal jar resting on thick legs with notched rims, carved from a porous stone. This style of tripodal vessel originated in the Teotihuacan metropolis and spread to other Mesoamerican cultures by trade and were recreated in both stone and pottery. Size: 3.5" Diameter x 4" H (8.9 cm x 10.2 cm)

Provenance: private Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA collection; ex-Minerva Gallery; ex-Benjamin Vega, California, USA, acquired in 2006 to 2007; ex-Gene and Virginia George, brought to the USA from 1961 to 1966
