Description

Civil War Era Painting of a Federal Officer in an Oval Frame Under Glass. This is a very well executed painting of what appears to be a Captain or Lieutenant in uniform. It is carved on back of board holding painting in frame "June 1863". Painting measures 8" wide x 10" high and with frame measures 14" x 16". no signature is observed and we did not remove the painting from the frame. Condition: Dirt and grime on painting. Face is clear and without damage, there is crazing on beard, hair, and lower part of uniform. Frame has minor wood loss at side and top joints. This painting presents well.
