This is a beautiful 1987 Fender 57 Reissue Stratocaster in very good vintage condition. Guitar is 100% original, no modifications. SERIAL NUMBER: V027542. WEIGHT: 7lbs 13.5ozs (3kg/570g). The rare Candy Apple Red Nitro finish is exquisite. What’s cool is the back of the body where you obviously see the buckle rash. The red nitro has faded to the gold nitro lacquer primer. This was the process Fender used to create their Candy Apple Red finish. The body has some scratches and dings, all from normal play ware. Another cool thing is the aging of the plastics. The pickguard, knobs, switch tip and pickup covers has a nice yellowing tint, naturally done over time. All the metal hardware has an incredible patina. Matching pot codes are stamped 1378717 denoting the CTS Co., made on the 17th week of 1987. Original 3-way switch is still on, the additional 5-way switch is included. The neck is beautiful, checking on both sides of the headstock. Pencil dated 8-11-87 at the butt. Neck has a 7.25 radius, nice medium U shape profile. Minimal fretware, frets have plenty of life. There is some nitro finish chipping around the tuner area as well as the upper end of the frets, nothing to affect the playability of the neck. The tuners have real nice patina to them. This fabulous 35-year-old Candy Apple Red Strat is just waiting to find a good home. Included is the original vintage tweed case in very good condition (film is still on the latches) with keys, manuals, additional 5-way switch, ashtray bridge cover, tremolo arm, unopened polishing cloth, spring envelope with 2 tremolo springs, guitar strap and cable.
