The guitar is signed by Lou Diamond Phillips, who also hand wrote "La Bamba" at the top. The guitar comes with a letter of provenance from Warner Brothers, and a letter of provenance from a collector who won the guitar from Warner Brothers in a contest. The letter states in part, "I was contacted by phone by a representative of Warner Brothers sometime in 1988 that I was the winner. I was told that this was the one and only 'Official La Bamba' Guitar." The lot also includes a press package for the film that includes (10) studio issued photos, 8"x10" photo of Lou Diamond Phillips from the film, heavy duty Fender hard case with keys, guitar strap, cord, La Bamba soundtrack on cassette, and Fender paperwork.
