What we have here is a good opportunity for someone to give some life back to this 1972 Fender Stratocaster. Serial number and color are unknown. WEIGHT: 6lbs 15.2ozs (3kg/159g). The collector acquired this guitar several years ago in hopes of a restoration, however that never happened. Listed here is what we believe to be original: Body, neck, bridge, springs, tremolo claw, jack cup and jack, strap buttons, pickguard, CRL 1452 3-way switch, capacitor, pots (two pots are stamped 1377202 while the third reads 1377112), matching pickups stamped 8022 but the leads were definitely replaced (pickup readings are 5.86k, 6.02k, and 5.87k), pickup covers, knobs, tuners (neck had another set of tuners on at one point), screws and pickup springs, pickguard appear period correct. What doesn’t appear original is the tremolo plate, and the neck plate. The neck is in very good condition. Neck is straight, has a 9.5 radius, very comfortable C shape profile. Frets are a little bit worn and could use a proper dressing or crowning, but the playability has not gone through the fingerboard finish. Stamped at the butt is 22FEB72 denoting the 22 as the model, made in February of 1972. Also at the butt is ink numbers of 4712. We are unsure what this means. Anyway, there you have it. Nice project for anyone to have what could be a nice guitar come back to life. This restoration project comes with its original black tolex case in very good vintage condition.
