Description
World War One collection of Colonel Edward Logan, 101st Infantry, AEF: letters, official documents, maps and photographs bound in five notebooks regarding the life and military service of Colonel Edward L. Logan (for whom Logan Airport is named), commander of the 101st Infantry, 26th Division, AEF in WW1, his brother Lt. Francis V. Logan (HQ, 52nd Infantry Brigade, AEF, 1917-1918), son General Edward Logan (MA National Guard), and father Lawrence (who emigrated from Ireland to MA in the 1870's). Colonel Logan's distinguished service in France in 1918 is particularly well documented, along with the debate over his early replacement. A valuable research collection.
