Description
A Roman glass sprinkler bottle and an indented cup. Lot includes an attractive Roman glass sprinkler bottle, c. 4th - 5th Century AD, fashioned from pale green glass, the rounded body with curved ridges along the bottom and light vertical ribbing around the upper portion, the short cylindrical neck constricted at base and the mouth wide and collared. H: 3 1/2 in (8.9 cm). Some surface deposits. Ex Superior Stamp & Coin, (Aug. 1983). The second is a Roman colorless glass indented cup, Eastern Mediterranean, c. 3rd Century AD, with four indented side and concave base, the rim lightly flared. H: 3 1/4 in (8.3 cm). Well-preserved with mineral encrustation throughout. Ex Alex Malloy Auction, (Oct. 1977) lot 140.
