The engraved certificate, No. 227, is issued to "S. Augustus Miller," who has endorsed the document on verso. Engraved by the Southern Bank Note Co. and Endicott & Clark, New Orleans.

DeMorse, the Texas Stock Commissioner who was tasked with funding the republic's mounting public debt, has signed this stock certificate and the interest coupons.
