Dimensions: Height: 28.5 cm, Width: 14.5 , Thickness: 8 cm
Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue and White Flowers Motif Porcelain Moon Flask Vase. The porcelain potted in moon vase, thick and tall, globular moon lower belly, straight cylindrical neck, round slight flaring mouth rim, flanked two archaic branch on the neck to shoulder, raised on rectangles foot base with slight concave footing. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white color which contrast against blue design color, depicted of big blossom in round medallion surrounded with flowers bloom, scrolling interlocking tendril and foliage. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.
The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
