John Gorse (1945-2020) of Charleston, SC. A business entrepreneurs, private collectors. A retired as senior vice president for legal and regulatory affairs in 1981. After retirement he focused his efforts on revitalizing the local area and philanthropy. His entrepreneurial drive continually motivated him to privately invest in real estate ventures and many other businesses. In addition to his impressive business acumen, he was a man of artistic pursuits, collecting antiques, porcelains, oriental rugs, and artwork of many different genres.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande Blue and white Boy Kite Motif Porcelain Hanging Plaque. The plaque has a broad wide central interior, rounded mouth lip, thick, large, emerge three u shape , big one on the upper center created majestic wall hanging, and another two on the left and right side. The hanging wall is finely carved in clean white base color which contrast against cobalt blue fine color, depicted of boys playing kite on the grass field beside the dense tree, flowers, vapors and enclosed with thrashing Lishui waves on the outer center. The glaze is seamless and gives off a beautiful luster, with the colors maintaining excellent vibrancy.

The upper interior bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, Made in The Years Xuande Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.

Over all in EXCELLENT condition.
