Description
Colorado Landscape, c. 1920, etching 2 3/4 X 2 3/8 in., housed in new 8-ply matt (, signed in pencil lower left, inscribed below matt "Greetings from Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Boatwell".
This etching is one of a small group that came from the family of a Colorado print maker that was a contemporary of Burr who received these etchings as annual Christmas greetings from both either Burr personally or from Cyrus Boutwell, a well-known Denver decorator and Burr's dealer, between roughly 1915 - 1923. Most have a personal Christmas salutation written in pencil below the matt line. They were never matted or framed and thus are in excellent, like new condition.
