Item Details
Description
Colorado Landscape of windblown tree at timberline, c 1915, etching 2 ½ X 1 7/8 in., housed in new 8-ply matt (8 5/8 x 9 1/4 in.), signed in pencil lower left, sharp impression, inscribed below matt in pencil "The Seasons Greetings, from George Elbert Burr - Dec. 1915.

This etching is one of a small group that came from the family of a Colorado print maker that was a contemporary of Burr who received these etchings as annual Christmas greetings from either Burr personally or Cyrus Boutwell, a well-known Denver decorator and dealer of Burr's, between roughly 1915 - 1923. Most have a personal Christmas salutation written in pencil below the matt line. They were never matted or framed and thus are in excellent, like new condition.
