This lot consists of an unframed acrylic painting on loose canvas, done in the Tachisme style of Jean-Paul Riopelle (Canadian, 1923-2002). This vibrant image is a beautiful array of fluorescent and deep pink and red tones. Hand-painted inscription at lower left. This piece measures approximately 19.5" x 20.25".

Jean-Paul Riopelle (Canadian, 1923-2002) was born in Montreal and attended art school in the early 1940s. He was a member of several progressive artist groups and constantly experimented with different techniques.
